Melt is a tiny boutique chocolatier in London’s Notting Hill. The book featured an overview of chocolate techniques and a selection of brilliant recipes of all things chocolate, from flavoured truffles and lollipops to chocolate slabs and caramels. The stunning images came courtesy of the award-winning photographer Jeans Cazals. With Chika Watanabe’s chocolate creations so exquisitely beautiful and Jean’s images so very rich and powerful, my job was to deliver a clean and restrained design which could show these visuals off to their best ability, with the odd big hit of type to give impact and occasionally shake up the pace.
